Until then, this is a brief step-by-step rundown of how a single hand of baccarat is played out:
- Choose the size of your bets and where you want to place them. The options are the Player Bet, Banker Bet, and Tie Bet. You can also consider placing side bets, but these are not advised.
- Two cards are dealt to each of the Player and Banker positions and revealed.
- The hand values of each hand are totaled up, and the hand value closest to the maximum value of 9 wins.
- If a hand value is more than 9, 10 is subtracted to give a new value under 9.
- If the Player's hand has a value under 6, a third card is drawn. The Banker only draws a third card if the player's hand reaches a score of 6 or 7.
- The dealer reveals the winning hand or if the game ended in a tie.
- All baccarat bets are settled.
Baccarat Bets: Choosing the Right Bets for Your Baccarat Strategy
As previously mentioned, there are different Baccarat bets you can make. You can place Banker bets, Player bets, or Tie bets. The Banker bet has the best odds of winning out of all three bets. It wins roughly 45.86% of the time and pays 0.95:1. Why lower than the Player bet? Because winning Banker bets are subject to a 5% commission. When betting on the Banker's hand, the house edge is 1.06%. Note: The reason the banker bet carries a slight advantage over the player bet is down to the order of play during a hand of Baccarat. The Player hand always acts first, which means it is possible the Player position can lose before the Banker even has to act.

The Player bet, on the other hand, wins around 44.62% of the time. That is slightly less than the Banker bet. Note: You may argue there is hardly any difference between the two bets in terms of odds. However, even the smallest of statistical advantages can have a big impact when playing games of chance.

The Tie bet in Baccarat comes in just 9.52% of the time. Baccarat Pattern Betting Strategy
In the game of baccarat, pattern tracking is the process of keeping track of the outcomes of previous rounds in an attempt to identify trends that you can use to predict what hand will win next. As statistics show that the Banker will win 45.843% of the time, the Player will win 44.615% of the time, and a Tie will occur 9.543% of the time, you can use these numbers to determine which hand is likely to win next.

As the name suggests, the reverse Martingale system works in an opposite fashion to the Martingale. When using the reverse Martingale, you double your bet after a win rather than a loss and go back to your initial bet when an inevitable loss comes your way. As Baccarat is the favorite game of the world's most famous fictional international spy, it is no surprise one of the most popular Baccarat betting strategies is named after him. The James Bond strategy involves splitting your bet across all three main bets. For example, let's say you wanted to bet €200 per round. You would place:
- A first bet of 70% (€140) on the Banker hand.
- A second bet of 25% (€50) on the Player hand.
- A third bet of 5% (€10) on the Tie.
The idea is to cover all potential outcomes so that a profit of around half the bet is made when the Banker bet wins, and only about half of the bet is lost if one of the other outcomes occurs. Essentially, you're making small gains whenever the most common bet wins and smaller losses when the others hit.

The Fibonacci Baccarat Strategy
The Fibonacci is another strategy that was primarily designed for use in the Roulette casino game and has since been modified to work on Baccarat. The banker bet is once again the desired bet for this strategy, and when using the Fibonacci, you have to follow a betting sequence after a loss. That sequence is:

After a win, you go back two steps in the sequence.

The Labouchere Strategy
Another progressive betting strategy, the Labouchere strategy, is more complex than most. To start, you first have to come up with a string of numbers in a sequence. Technically, you can use any sequence, but the best baccarat players put a lot of mathematical thought into this aspect. For the purpose of this guide, we will use the 1-2-3 sequence as an example. A typical sequence would be much longer.
The potential profit for that sequence is €6, which is also the total number of the stakes in that sequence. Every bet you make is meant to be the sum of the first and last numbers in the sequence added together. So, in this example, that bet would be €4.
If that wager wins, you cross off the first and last numbers in the sequence. Should it lose, you add the number you staked, (4), to the end of that sequence and then bet 4+1 (as these are now the first and last numbers), which is €5 for the next bet.

Note: If you win and only one number is left in the sequence, the sequence is over. You can then either stop playing or start a new sequence. The potential profit of any given sequence is the sum of all the original numbers in the sequence. In this example, the potential profit would be €6 (1+2+3).
The 1-3-2-4 Strategy
The 1-3-2-4 baccarat strategy is a positive betting system based on the fact that either the Player or Banker has a roughly 50% chance of winning. With fairly even odds, either one could win.
To use this strategy in baccarat, you will follow a simple progression. In the first round, bet 1 unit. In the second round, bet 3; in the third, 2; and in the fourth, 4. However, you will only progress to the next number in the sequence if you win a hand. You will need to start from the beginning if you lose.
Each number in the sequence represents the number of units to wager in that particular round. For example, if each unit is equal to $/£/€1 and you win all four rounds, you would end with a profit of $/£/€10.

Far from being one of the most advanced betting systems you can use on Baccarat games, the D'Alembert Baccarat betting strategy is still among the most popular. Again, the size of the bet you place depends on the result of the Banker's hand. First, you decide your standard bet, and after every losing bet, you increase your bet by one unit while you increase the bet after every winning wager.
So, as an example, let's say you wager €10 for every bet and have won three in a row. You now place a wager of €40, and it wins again, so requires you to increase it to €50 for the next bet. You lose that one, so go back to €40. You will only return to your original bet after a series of losses.
