To start with the Hollandish betting system, you must decide the stake you would like to start out with. You must then commit and bet this amount for three consecutive rounds, whether you win or lose. If the outcome of the three bets results in a net profit, you are considered to have won, and the sequence ends there.
The Hollandish betting system follows a simple progression in which the bet is increased by two. For example, if you begin with a $1 bet, the sequence would be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. If you started out with a bet of $2, your progression would look like this: 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22. In this progression, the player increased the bet by four each time.
Unlike other betting systems, when you win using the Hollandish, you start over with the same bet. For example, if you win your first sequence while betting $1, you would start over betting $1 again during the next sequence. You only increase your bet to the next number in the progression if you win only one or none of the bets in the sequence.
You can then start a new game by choosing an initial bet which should then be played three rounds.
Here’s an example:
You have a starting balance of $10.
You make a starting bet of $1 and lose, leaving your total amount at $9.
You bet $1 again and win, bringing your total balance back to $10.
You bet $1 a third and final time and win, bringing your balance to $11.
In this example, you gained a net profit of $1 which means it’s a winning session. You now have a total balance of $11, which can be used for your next sequence. Let’s say that you lose all three rounds in the next sequence.
You have a starting balance of $11.
You make a starting bet of $1 and lose, leaving your total amount at $10.
You bet $1 again and lose, bringing your total balance to $9.
You bet $1 a third and final time and lose, bringing your total balance to $8.
In this example, you had a net loss of $3. To win back the amount you lost and still make a net profit, you will need to increase your stake by two units in the next sequence. Just like in the previous rounds, you would bet this amount three consecutive times.

You make a starting bet of $3 and win, leaving your total balance at $11.
You bet $3 again and win, bringing your total balance to $14.
You bet $3 a third and final time and win, resulting in a total balance of $17.
At the end of these three sequences, you would have a total net gain of $7. You can then choose to walk away or play another sequence in attempt to make a larger net profit. Of course, our example used a small starting balance and small wager. By increasing your starting balance and wager amount, you can increase your odds of reaching a higher net profit. Of course, you are also at risk of losing more too.
Benefits and Limitations of the Hollandish
What makes the Hollandish betting system an attractive option is that it allows players who have suffered losses the ability to win back their money and reach a net profit. As the player is betting in blocks of three and the stake is only increased by two units in each sequence, it takes many lost rounds before the wager reaches a high amount. This means that most sessions of roulette that use the Hollandish betting system end with a net profit.
The Hollandish is less aggressive and less risky. However, since there is a lower risk, losses are not as easily won back compared to Martingale.
