Pirots 5 online slot game
Pirots 5, scheduled for a July 2026 release, is the fifth entry in ELK Studios' CollectR slot series, sending the four-bird crew into an ancient Egyptian temple. ELK has layered on new mechanics this time, including Captain Blackfeather, Catacombs, more traps and collectable tokens, all of which showed up regularly in our test session and handed out some respectable payouts.

Pirots 5 Theme and First Impressions

ELK clearly put a lot of work into how Pirots 5 looks and sounds. The soundtrack sets a great mood without becoming annoying after dozens of spins and the visuals are crisp across the board. Sure, Egyptian-themed slots are everywhere, but this one manages to sidestep the usual tired tropes and carve out its own identity.
As the fifth CollectR game, the real draw is not the theme but the collection system underneath it, which now comes with more mechanics than any previous entry. Just keep in mind that the core loop still feels very much like a Pirots game, so do not expect a complete reinvention.

How Pirots 5 Plays – Base Game
You start on a 6x6 grid that can expand all the way to 8x8 later on. There are no paylines here. Instead, Pirots 5 runs on the CollectR mechanic. Each of the four birds takes turns collecting adjacent gems that match its color, along with any feature symbols in its path. Each gem a bird picks up counts as a win.
When no bird can move anymore, the grid refills from above, and collecting continues as long as at least one bird still has a gem it can reach. This loop can stretch a single spin out for a long time when features chain together.
Gems also level up over the course of your session, increasing their value. There are seven levels in total, starting at 0.05x per gem and climbing up to 25x. Since payouts are not tied to symbol positions on specific lines, the table below shows what each gem pays at a 1 EUR bet:

| Symbol | Level 7 | Level 6 | Level 5 | Level 4 | Level 3 | Level 2 | Level 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Captain Blackfeather | 30.00 | 10.00 | 3.00 | 1.00 | 0.50 | 0.30 | 0.15 |
| Red Gems | 25.00 | 6.25 | 2.00 | 0.75 | 0.40 | 0.25 | 0.10 |
| Purple Gems | 15.00 | 5.00 | 1.60 | 0.60 | 0.30 | 0.20 | 0.10 |
| Green Gems | 10.00 | 3.75 | 1.20 | 0.45 | 0.25 | 0.15 | 0.05 |
| Blue Gems | 7.50 | 2.50 | 0.80 | 0.30 | 0.15 | 0.10 | 0.05 |
Pirots 5 Bonus Features
Pirots 5 has a lot of features packed into it. If you've played past Pirot's titles, most of this will feel familiar, but ELK Studios tossed in a few new tricks that kept things from getting stale during our session.
Collection Meter and Feature Symbols

Alongside gems, special symbols can land on the grid:
- Upgrade / Upgrade All: Raises the payout level of one gem color by 1-3 steps or bumps up every color at the same time. If the bird's gems are already at level 7, the upgrade can carry over to other birds.
- Transform / Super Transform: Converts gems around a bird into that bird's matching color. May also turn random gems into feature symbols. Super Transform repeats this 2 or 3 times.
- Coins: When a bird grabs a coin, you get paid the coin's value times your bet. A Max Win coin pays the remaining amount needed to reach the 10,000x cap. We spotted one in our test session, but no bird managed to reach it.
- Tokens: Count toward the Collectable Tokens system and are worth 5x when picked up.
- Wilds: They work exactly how you would expect, substituting for any gem and paying at whatever level that gem has reached.
Every gem and wild bird the player collects fills up a meter at the top of the screen. When it fills, a pending feature release is added (up to three can stack), which triggers once the birds cannot collect anymore and converts gems into random feature symbols.
Captain Blackfeather

Blackfeather can land on any drop. If a bird ends up adjacent to him, he takes over that bird, claiming its win counter, gems and feature symbols. The taken-over gems become Blackfeather gems worth 0.15x to 30x each, and there is a chance he takes over additional birds for even bigger payouts. Once he has collected all available Blackfeather gems and feature symbols, he is removed from the grid.
Catacombs

Each corner of the grid is assigned a color. If a bird collects a gem on the corner that matches its own color, you trigger the Catacombs. If Blackfeather controls the bird, he enters instead and wins all fights automatically.
The bird drops down to a separate screen with four sarcophagi. Beat the mummy inside one and special feature symbols get loaded onto the main grid. Lose to the mummy and the feature ends right there. Defeating all four mummies adds coins to the coffin positions before returning to the main grid.
This quickly became one of our favorite parts of the game. In our test session, it triggered 7 times across 200 spins and paid between 10x and 30x our bet, which helped keep our balance from bleeding out.
Traps and Secret Door

When the birds run out of matching gems to grab, one of three traps can activate to reset the action and get the collecting going again:
- Arrow Shooter: Fires arrows that temporarily knock birds off the grid, converting their gems to a different color. If all four birds get hit, random gems turn into coins instead. Removed birds return on the next refill.
- Boulder: A massive rock ranging from 2x2 to 4x4 rolls across the screen, smashing symbols, walls and even birds, triggering a fresh cascade. Removed birds return on the next refill.
- Secret Door: Splits the grid into four squares and rotates them, moving symbols, traps and birds. Cross-over tiles let birds reach already-collected positions. While active, entry to the Catacombs is disabled.
Cursed Temple

If you manage to clear every symbol from the grid while the Secret Door is active, the Cursed Temple minigame kicks in. The screen shifts to an 8x8 grid with a chest sitting in the center, and only coins and birds appear.
You start with 3 spins. Each time a coin lands, your spin counter resets to 3. The goal is to get a bird all the way to the center chest. Pull that off, and you trigger Cursed Treasure, which adds all of that bird's accumulated winnings to your total and drops more coins onto the grid.
We never triggered this one naturally during 200 base game spins. When we bought into it through the X-iter feature, it paid between 11x and 80x our bet. That is a decent return, but hitting it organically seems really tough without using the buy-in option.
Bonus and Super Bonus
The main bonus round fires when the birds collect three bonus symbols in a single spin, awarding you 5 drops. During the bonus, the grid size, meter progress, and gem levels all carry over between drops, and that's where the real money comes from.

If one of those collected symbols happens to be a Super Bonus symbol, you get a shower of coins at the start of every drop. This is where the game really pays off. We hit our session-best win of 124x our bet during a Super Bonus round, but do not expect it to come easy. You'll need patience.

X-iter Bonus Buy

If waiting around is not your thing, the X-iter menu lets you pay to skip ahead:
- Bonus Hunt: Costs 3x your bet and gives you a 5x higher chance of triggering the bonus.
- Mega Hunt: Costs 10x your bet and pushes that chance to over 20x.
- Cursed Temple: Costs 50x your bet and drops you straight into the coin minigame.
- Bonus: Costs 100x your bet for the standard bonus round.
- Super Bonus: Costs 250x your bet for the upgraded bonus round with guaranteed coins.
We would not suggest relying on any of these regularly since they're all expensive bets. That said, if your patience is running thin, the Bonus Hunt option offers a reasonable trade-off between cost and upside.
Other Mechanics Worth Knowing
On top of the main features, Pirots 5 has several smaller mechanics running in the background:
- Collectable Tokens / Boss Castle: There are 9 tokens spread across three worlds (Cursed Temple, The Kraken, City of Gold), each worth 5x. Collecting all 9 permanently unlocks the Boss Castle game.
- Switcheroo: Two adjacent birds that cannot collect may swap places. A Super Switcheroo can move a bird to the grid edge or to the next collectable symbol in its path.
- Labyrinth: Triggers when three or more birds end up adjacent, removing gems from random rows and columns and separating the birds along them. Cannot trigger during the Cursed Temple game.
- Portals: Can appear in the walls around the grid, letting birds teleport to collectable symbols on the other side. Up to four portals can appear at once.
- Charlie's Extra Chance: May activate a random number of traps when no bird can collect, keeping the action alive.
- Cursed Treasure Coin Rain: Can trigger randomly in any round, dropping coins onto the grid.
What to Expect When Playing Pirots 5
We ran 200 spins on the demo version at 1 EUR per spin in demo mode. In our test session, the regular bonus feature triggered twice. The first hit landed early, on spin 16, and delivered our biggest win of the session at 124x.
In our experience, the base game kept a solid pace. We rarely went more than 5-10 spins without some kind of win, though this will vary from session to session. We started our session with a 5,000 EUR balance and wrapped up 200 spins sitting at 5,110 EUR.
Win Potential and Volatility

Pirots 5 caps out at 10,000x your bet, matching the ceiling of the other games in the series. That tells you the potential for a huge hit is there, but you'll likely need a long session to get anywhere close to it.
The RTP sits at 96.0%, which is right in line with the industry standard, so you're not giving the house any extra edge. With medium-high volatility, your bankroll should not crater without warning. In our test session, dry spells stayed short, and features like the Catacombs kicked in often enough with smaller wins to keep things moving.
Mobile Performance
The game runs smoothly on mobile with no lag or stuttering to speak of. Touch controls feel responsive, though with all the action happening at once (birds hopping, gems vanishing, traps going off), the screen can get a little busy on a smaller phone. The optimization is strong, so you will not sacrifice any visual quality or speed.
How Pirots 5 Compares
Pirots 3 and 4 share the same max win and deliver plenty of excitement, but they get there through different mechanics.
| Game | Provider | Volatility | Max Win | Special Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pirots 5 | ELK Studios | Medium-high | 10,000x | Meter, Blackfeather, Catacombs, Cursed Temple, Traps, Bonus, X-iter. |
| Pirots 4 | ELK Studios | High | 10,000x | Meter, Switcheroo, Power Clash, Bombs, Lost in Space, Bonus, X-iter. |
| Pirots 3 | ELK Studios | High | 10,000x | Meter, Locked Bandit, Peanut, Dynamite, Showdown, Train Heist, Bonus, X-iter. |
Pirots has 5 packs in the most mechanics of the three, making it the best pick if you want a game loaded with features. On the flip side, Pirots 3 and 4 feel a bit leaner and more straightforward. If you prefer gameplay that's easier to follow at a glance, one of the earlier titles might suit you better.
Verdict – Is Pirots 5 Worth Playing?
The best thing about this slot is how features like the Catacombs and Captain Blackfeather step in to keep your balance healthy while you wait for the main bonus to hit. If you enjoy feature-heavy collection slots with lots of moving parts, Pirots 5 is one of the most complete packages out there right now.
On the other hand, the sheer number of mechanics can feel overwhelming if you prefer simpler games, and fans of Pirots 3 and 4 might find the core loop too familiar despite the new additions.
Best suited for series fans and anyone who likes busy and layered slots where every spin can branch into something new. If that sounds like too much, one of the earlier Pirots titles or a more traditional slot might be a better fit.
