Microgaming WowPot Jackpot Slots
The WowPot Jackpot network began in February 2020 courtesy of Microgaming. Back then, there was just a single slot title with the WowPot Jackpot – The Wheel of Wishes. Today, it is one of the biggest and best-known progressive jackpot series around. It has created five multi-millionaires to date, pays out an average of €9.6 million in jackpot prizes, and will soon be the holder of a Guinness Book of Records for the largest online jackpot payout of all time!
What is the WowPot Progressive Jackpot?
The WowPot is a 4-tiered progressive jackpot network from Microgaming, a leading iGaming developer that was recently acquired by Games Global. Since launching with the release of The Wheel of Wishes WowPot jackpot slot game, it now features 11 jackpot games from Microgaming and various independent studios partnered with Microgaming/Games Global.
It has four jackpots, the Mini, Minor, Major, and the WowPot. These are pooled jackpots, meaning a small percentage of every bet placed on those WowPot slots will go into the jackpot pool. As you can imagine, with so many players spinning away on these slots around the world, these can quickly grow into life-changing sums of money - especially the main WowPot jackpot.
The main WowPot jackpot is seeded with €2 million, so straight away, it is already a massive sum of money. However, it can, and has grown to unbelievable sizes. When playing those WowPot slot games, players stand a chance of randomly triggering one of those four jackpots. If it is the WowPot jackpot, that usually means many millions. That WowPot jackpot has so far paid out big wins five times, with the smallest jackpot being €2.37 million and the largest win, being a staggering €17.5 million.
The total WowPot payouts to date are just under €30 million. To be exact, at the time of writing in June 2023, the WowPot has paid out €99,860,442.99. Also, at the time of writing this WowPot progressive jackpot guide, the WowPot currently stands at almost €30 million! When that jackpot does go, it will become the record payout ever recorded from a jackpot slot online.
What are Progressive Jackpot Slots?
In short, progressive jackpot slots are video slot games at online casinos that carry a jackpot that grows as more players play it. A tiny percentage of each bet contributes to the jackpot prizes. Eventually, that jackpot will pay out to one lucky player.
A jackpot is either triggered randomly, or players must land a special symbol, a certain symbol combination, or via some other method, such as collecting scatters. Players then take part in a bonus round that determines which of the four WowPot jackpots they win.
You will find standalone progressive jackpot slots and those, like the WowPot jackpot, that are part of a network of slots. With the latter, all the jackpot games in the network will contribute to the same pooled jackpots.
WowPot Progressive Jackpot Slots Currently Available
At this time, there are 11 WowPot slot machine titles currently available, and it is never too long before we see another. As mentioned, the first WowPot slot game released was Wheel of Wishes in 2020. Since then, we have seen another 10 WowPot slots released, meaning there are ten so far.
Each title was developed by a Microgaming partner studio – a company that now partners with Games Global. Developers that have created WowPot games to date are Triple Edge Studios, Alchemy Gaming, All41 Studios, Slingshot Studios, Neon Valley Studios, JustForTheWin, SpinPlay Games, Fortune Factory Studios, and Games Global.
Each slot machine offers a different gaming experience at online casinos. This is a great way to ensure there is something for everyone. Some utilize paylines, others Megaways, and some Ways-to-Win.

- Wheel of Wishes WowPot by Alchemy Gaming (10 pay lines)

How Does the WowPot Progressive Jackpot Work?
There are 4 jackpots on the WowPot network, and those jackpots are available in all WowPot slots in the series. The key difference between each of them is the amount, how often each jackpot pays, and the reset amount, a.k.a. seed the jackpot rolls back to after a jackpot is paid.
- WowPot Jackpot: seeds at €2 million and pays on average every 121 days
- Major Jackpot: seeds at €100,000 and pays on average every 7 days
- Minor Jackpot: seeds at €50,000 and pays on average every 1 minute
- Mini Jackpot: seeds at €10,000 and pays on average every 34 seconds
Can you imagine that? Every 34 seconds, somebody somewhere has won at least €10,000 and every minute, somebody has scooped at least €50,000 on a WowPot slot machine from a single bet. Of course, while they were hoping it was a Grand Jackpot win, we doubt those players complain too much!
Spin Bets Contribute 5.30% of Every Bet Towards the 4 WowPot Slots Jackpot Kitties
Now, for the jackpots to rise, there needs to be some kind of contribution. This contribution comes out of each spin bet placed by anyone playing in the slot. As a result, Microgaming has set the progressive jackpot contribution to 5.30% of every bet, which is the same as the Mega Moolah jackpot network.
How to Trigger the WowPot Jackpot While Playing Casino Games in the Series
Triggering the WowPot jackpot depends on the game title you are playing. Here’s a quick overview covering some of the different ways each slot game can trigger a jackpot win.
- On the Wheel of Wishes slot, it is triggered by landing a giant blazing wheel symbol during a Power Spin.
- On the Sisters of Oz™: WowPot and Book of Atem WowPot slots, the WowPot will trigger at random from a collection pot.
- The African Legends slot will trigger its jackpot games when 8 Rolling Reels™ wins land in a row.
- The Finer Reels of Life WowPot triggers randomly when one symbol (a coin) lands on the reels during the base game.
Other slots will require landing symbols in a winning combination or may require you to collect coins until a pot is full. That is the fun with the WowPot jackpot series, as the methods to trigger the jackpot games are often different.
The Jackpot Round on WowPot Slots
Another thing you will notice when you play a WowPot slot (well, if you're ever lucky enough to trigger them) is that the jackpot round will also differ from title to title. These games are used to determine which of the four jackpots you will win. Of course, in most cases, you're going to win one of the other three jackpots - but just once, you might get lucky enough to win the big one!
You might have to spin a wheel to find out what you win, play a picking game or some other type of mini-game. However, the result ultimately comes down to whether the RNG (random number generator) has picked you out as the next multi-millionaire!
Some of the Largest WowPot Jackpot Wins to Date
With the 4 jackpots consistently paying out, there are bound to be some large prizes to report. There are only 5 WowPot Mega wins reported to date. The first was €17.53 million in April 2021, over 14 months after the jackpot network first came online. Surprisingly, in the same month, a second player hit the WowPot jackpot, but because of the first jackpot win, the second player only won the ‘seed’ amount of €2 million. Still not bad!
There have been others, too, as you will see below. We've also listed some of the larger 'Major' jackpot wins.
Here are the biggest wins from the WowPot jackpot so far:
- The Book of Atem slot paid €17.53 million in April 2021 (WowPot Mega).
- The Cash ‘n Riches WowPot! slot game paid out €10,913,481 in July 2022.
- The Ancient Fortunes: Poseidon WowPot! Megaways slot machine created a winner of €4,913,495 in August 2022.

Collecting Your Progressive Jackpot Slots Winnings after a Big Win & Bonus Bets!
If you are a seasoned online casino player, then you already know that most online casinos have a maximum daily, weekly, and/or monthly withdrawal limit. However, if you win a jackpot of any considerable size, the payment does not come from online casinos. It comes from Games Global, and there is no limit to the amount the company pays. You can choose how your jackpot is paid to you.
- Lump Sum: Games Global pays the entire sum of your win in one go
- Annuity: Receive smaller payments of your winnings over time
Just as a final note. If you are thinking about claiming a casino bonus to play WowPot slots, just note that 99.9% of bonus deals exclude progressive jackpots from bonus bets. Always check the ‘bonus terms’ to see which slots are excluded, and make sure to avoid placing bets on excluded game titles, because doing so could render your bonus null and void.
WowPot Jackpot Slots Compared to Mega Moolah Jackpot Slots
To be honest, we love both the WowPot and the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot networks. They're both from Microgaming/Games Global, and both have created huge winners. They each offer a great variety of slot games as well.
That said, there is one reason why we think the WowPot is better. The jackpots are seeded with more money. For instance, the main jackpot on the Mega Moolah is seeded with €1 million compared to the €2 million on the WowPot.
Our Opinion of WowPot Jackpot Slots
We regularly play WowPot slots here at Playcasino and have to admit we enjoy them. Not only because there is a chance we can earn a big in (ok, that is the only reason), but also because the slots offer up a ton of fun. We also love the variety you will find in the WowPot series. You will find classic 5-reel slots with paylines and symbols such as bar symbols and cherries. You will also find modern video slots with six reels or fantastic bonus features, including sticky wilds, Mega Symbols, Jumbo Blocks, Mystery Respins, expanding wilds, and free spins.
All in all, what is not to love about WowPot slots that could turn you into an instant millionaire?
